In your bones you can feel that you’re a pack animal.

You hear the call in your heart to reweave the village.

You desire to live in more rooted and regenerative ways.

You long to feel held by – and hold – deep, meaningful community.

YET OUR MODERN WAYS CAN HAVE US FEELING...

  • Tender & fearful of the vulnerability and complexity of living in collaboration with others

  • Uncertain about what we even want when it comes to community (It's kind of nice having one’s independence too ;)

  • Confused about where to begin, when a vision for ‘village’ feels big and far-off

  • Overwhelmed by the thoughts of making tangible changes to daily life

BENEATH ALL OF THIS, DEEP DOWN YOU KNOW YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO carry so much alone.

It’s time to remember yourself home.

Join us in a group community space to:

  • Clarify your vision for what a more community-oriented life looks like for you

  • Unpack your fears and questions about building community

  • Create a plan for a more shared way of life in the here and now, and get support in making it a reality

  • Take steps to build more lived experience of community in your everyday

  • Meet like-minded people

  • Experience shared inspiration through shared stories and wisdom from your own community experiences

  • Receive guidance, prompts, accountability, and practical tools to help you navigate the journey

  • Gain confidence in following through with your community desires, and skill to initiate and follow-through

  • Build a more community oriented life

In our modern world, designed for the individual, you find yourself craving a more collective life…

This is Bigger than You.

Actively choosing to depend on each other in integral ways changes us - when we offer hospitality, or receive someone’s generosity… when we see our lives tied up with someone else’s, it is both beautiful and vulnerable. It reminds us of our needs, and of our capacity. Choosing this interdependence is an act of rebellion in a world that tells us to look out only for ourselves and “our own”.

This work is a remembering for our ancestors, A reclamation for ourselves, and a legacy for our children.

This work is a healing for the collective.

Hi I’m Sarah, Our-Common Founder, Relationship-dynamics Coach, & Community Builder

I am passionate about helping people to build their skills and capacity to navigate nuanced relationship dynamics with courage and grace.

I grew up in a home focused on hospitality, and mutual-aid, where shared elements of life with friends and neighbours was considered ‘normal’. With my own young-family, I lived in intentional community for close to a decade - including living on shared land with other singles and families while sharing meals, work, and chores etc.

Though now we live in a single family dwelling in an average neighbourhood, we have built a tight-knit local community. We seek to live in alignment with our core-values of environmental stewardship, community-care, and local-impact, through small daily choices.

This offering is one I created because I’ve experienced first-hand that it is hard work to build community into our lives in this busy modern world, and we can all use a little support and encouragement on the journey. I don’t come to the table with all the answers, but am here to make space for our collective grappling. May we be better for having these important conversations together.

What past participants have to say…

Dates for the Next Round will be Released Soon.

What We’ll Cover

  • Remembering - gathering stories of community experiences from our own lives, or that we’ve heard of, to bolster and inspire us.

  • Visioning - getting in touch with our own ‘high dream’ for community in our lives (this could be anything from getting to know your neighbours better, to buying land with your best-friends - there’s no one-size fits all expression of community).

  • Identifying fears, barriers, and questions - often naming ‘what holds us back’ is a great place to start. Whether it’s about security, privacy, ease, introversion, conflict avoidance, or lack of knowing where to start - you’re not alone. It’s normal to have hesitancy in shifting up your current patterns.

    • Your fears and questions will help us source the focus areas for our shared discussion space - we’ll address these through topical discussions, spot-coaching, and teaching-times.

  • Brainstorming & resource sharing - we’ll source solutions, creative ideas, and inspiration from the wisdom of the group.

  • Relational skill building - In particular in the areas of:

    • relationship design & navigating nuance,

    • balancing personal needs with community needs,

    • identifying shared values,

    • collective decision making,

    • setting boundaries, and

    • conflict navigation.

  • Planning & implementation - Starting with small simple practices you can begin on day 1 - we’ll move towards action together. Our shared space will be a place to share your wins, your questions, and get the encouragement and accountability you need to make lasting change.

**Cost is per Household:

In other words: your partner, spouse, or roommate can join us for no extra charge!

Investment**

We don’t want financial limitation to be a barrier to participating here, so we priced this on a sliding scale. In fact, tiered pricing is one of the ways we practice community care. When those who can, pay full price, it creates opportunity for those with less, to access resources at a reduced rate.

Please be thoughtful about what your capacity truly is - this system is built on trust.

For the full program:

  • Join & Support - $1,800 CAD* per household

This is for you if you are able to pay for ‘wants’ without much consideration and spend little time worried about securing the necessities of life. This option helps to cover costs for those needing support - thank you for contributing to our community!

  • Join - $1,200 CAD* per household

This is the cost of the program - this is for you if you can pay your needs month to month and have some wiggle room for ‘extras’.

  • Join & Receive - $600 CAD* per household

This might be for you if you are struggling to overcome debt, are stretched to meet your basic needs, or are living paycheck to paycheck. This option is supported by the cost of those who can pay more - community care involves giving and receiving!

All options can be paid in one lump sum, or in monthly installments.

*GST included. Note that 10% of profits go to charitable giving so we can ripple our impact.

*If cost still feels like a barrier, reach out about scholarship options - let’s have an honest and creative conversation.
