Our Common Life
A 4-month community building journey.
October 2025 - February 2026
A space to practice building the community you long for - right where you are.
You’re not struggling because you’re broken or failing.
You’re struggling because the world tells you to do it all alone.
We live in a culture shaped by systems that prize individualism, productivity, and self-sufficiency. We've inherited narratives that make asking for help feel like failure. We're busy. Overextended. Disconnected. Not only from one another, but from our own instincts toward mutual care.
I believe it’s possible to move from carrying everything yourself to living with real support, connection, and interdependence.
In your bones, you know you’re a pack animal.
You hear the call to re-weave the village and live in rooted, regenerative ways.
You long to be held by—and hold—deep, meaningful community.
What we truly want isn’t just “community,” but familiarity, consistency, and belonging in everyday life—the freedom to ask for help without shame and to be part of a mutual, living web of care. The village.
When we experience this, we begin to see our lives not as isolated, but woven into a larger whole—where generosity, listening, and collaboration become natural ways of being.
And yet even when the desire for community is alive, many of us lack the skills, the examples, or the courage to keep going when it gets hard. And when it does get hard—as it always will—we pull back, thinking we've failed.
The truth is: we're wired for connection.
We just haven't been given the space, tools, or support to practice.
Our Common Life is a 4-month group coaching journey for those longing to weave real, everyday, in-person community into their lives—wherever you’re starting from.
We gather as a small group to remember what it means to live alongside others.
Come to learn, stretch, be resourced, and filled up, so you can return to your own life equipped to live this work.
Together, we form a mini-community, practicing interdependence, generosity, curiosity, and connection. We walk together, even when it’s messy.
Whether you’re nurturing an existing project or just sensing the first threads of a vision, this space offers the tools, structure, and support to help you bring it to life.
Think of it as a watering hole—a place to return to for nourishment as you turn toward deeper, more rooted ways of being in community.
What past participants are saying:
This is for you if...
You’re craving more intentional, in-person community in your daily life.
You long for a closer web of support and shared life.
You have a vision—or even just a quiet longing—for something more connected, but aren’t sure how to begin.
You’re already in community and want to deepen, clarify, or bring more structure and consistency to it.
You’re ready to move from doing it all alone into living with support and reciprocity.
You’re willing to show up—to practice, to get messy, to grow alongside others.
You’re building something, or want to—but need guidance, tools, and a place to be held while you do.
You don’t want to figure it all out by yourself anymore.
This space is relational, not technical—so it’s not the right fit if you're primarily seeking legal or logistical guidance around land-based living or co-housing structures. (That’s powerful work! It’s just not what we’re doing here.)
But if what you’re looking for is a more rooted, interdependent way of life—and the community, support, and practice to help you live it—this might be the place for you.
This is more than work — it’s how I live.
I’m Sarah Wildeman, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been shaped by the rhythms of community—growing up in a home grounded in hospitality and mutual aid, raising my young family in intentional community, and now cultivating a strong local network in an “ordinary” neighbourhood.
I’ve spent years learning (often the hard way) that real community isn’t always easy or tidy—but it’s deeply human and deeply worth it.
I created Our Common Life because I know how hard it can be to build and sustain meaningful connection in a busy, fragmented world. This space is here to help you grow your skills, expand your capacity, and navigate relational complexity with courage and grace.
I don’t show up with all the answers. But I do make space for honest conversation, shared learning, and the kind of community that lasts.
Let’s build something real—together.

Investment
We don’t want cost to be a barrier. That’s why this offering is priced on a sliding scale—an act of community care in itself. When those with more financial capacity pay at the higher tiers, it helps create access for others. This model is built on trust, so we simply ask that you choose the tier that reflects your current reality.
For the full program:
Full Program Cost — $1600 CAD / household
For those who can meet needs and wants with ease, and rarely worry about making ends meet. Choosing this tier helps fund scholarship spots—a practice of reciprocity at the heart of this work.
Sliding Scale — $1350 CAD / household
For those who meet monthly needs with some room for extras, but still need to be mindful. A balanced choice that helps sustain the offering while honoring your limits.
Community-Supported — $1100 CAD / household
